Designing clarity into
complex products.

7+ years across enterprise SaaS, fintech, proptech, and government. I own multi-surface problems from discovery and research through shipped interaction design and design systems.

How I work

A blend of research, systems, & judgement

Problem Reframing

The first version of a problem is usually the starting point, not the whole story. Most of the work is figuring out what we actually need to solve.

Research That Guides

Sometimes research confirms the original idea we started with. More often it points the team in the different direction, and we get there together.

Systems, Not Screens

I design the architecture underneath the interface. That usually means defining the data model first, so the screens still hold together as the system grows.

Design Systems

I build tokens and components, and write the documentation that makes them usable. I name things semantically so the system scales.

Designing for AI

I consider what AI does well and where it falls short. That involves testing against real scenarios and watching how the feature performs once it's live.

Getting It Adopted

I care whether what we build gets used. Adoption comes from designing around how people actually work, and bringing them into the process.

Turn Control Center

V1 of an internal tool was shipped and nobody used it. Discovery for V2 found that users didn’t want a better task queue. They wanted visibility into the work the system never tracked.

AI Service Request Intake

When a generative AI chooses its own path, there are no flows to define and map. I built a modular component system the AI assembles on its own, and tested it against real scenarios.

Change Order Management

30% of property transitions between tenants need a change order to the original scope, and those changes were tracked by hand. I designed one system across five platform surfaces, starting with the data model.

About Niki Ramlogan

Designer by trade. Budding indie dev.

I started in graphic design and spent years on color, type, and composition before moving into product. Twelve years later I’ve worked in government, real estate valuation, food logistics, and now property management. The domains changed but the problems didn’t: long workflows, specialist users, and systems that got complicated over time. I’ve gotten good at recognizing that pattern early and working inside it.

Outside of work I read fantasy books and play video games. I’m also building my first video game in Godot right now. It’s a mix of learning new skills and applying what I already know. The design part comes easy. Writing code is another story.
